Arts Education
Our Programs
Your support for the LA Jazz Festival Foundation will catalyze transformative change in the lives of underserved youth through our cornerstone and pilot programs.
Jazz Community and Jazz Scholarships will provide vital access to performances and music education, proven to boost graduation and attendance.
Our planned Jazz Head Start, Jazz in School, After-School Jazz, Jazz for Life, and Jazz Back Stage initiatives will nurture talent and ambition, offering holistic support to students from preschool through young adulthood.
With music majors being the most successful medical school applicants and high school musicians demonstrating higher GPAs, our programs not only cultivate artistic skill but also foster academic excellence and healthy lifestyles.
By bridging the gap in music education, we're not only enriching lives but also creating a brighter future for our communities.
Together, we'll make a resounding difference, one note at a time.

Music Education Benefits
Welcome to LA Jazz Festival Foundation, where we're orchestrating change one note at a time!
Did you know that despite the overwhelming evidence of the importance of arts education, only 11% of California schools offer comprehensive programs in music, dance, theater, and visual arts? It's a startling statistic, but one that drives our mission forward.
Here's why your support is crucial
2. Boosted Attendance: Schools that embrace music education see attendance rates of 93.3%, compared to a mere 84.9% in those without music programs.
4. Healthy Choices: Students engaged in school band or orchestra are the epitome of wellness. They demonstrate the lowest levels of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug use.
3. Music Majors Shine Bright: Ever dreamed of medical school? Turns out, music majors are the most likely group of college grads to be admitted.
1. Graduation and Attendance Rates Soar: Schools with music programs boast an impressive 90.2% graduation rate and a staggering 93.9% attendance rate. In contrast, those without such programs struggle, with only a 72.9% graduation rate and an 84.9% attendance rate.
5. Academic Excellence: High school music students are hitting all the right notes academically, boasting higher grade point averages than their non-musician peers.
